For Those About To Rock ‘AC/DC Australia’s Family Jewels’ begins its national tour
The Art Centre’s outstanding rock ‘n’ roll exhibition AC/DC Australia’s Family Jewels will begin its national tour when it opens at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney on September 11, 2010.
More than 220,000 people visited AC/DC Australia’s Family Jewels when it was displayed at the Arts Centre in Melbourne. Exhibition Curator Tim Fisher says: “We were absolutely delighted at the popularity of AC/DC Australia’s Family Jewels, and this incredible response has led directly to this national tour”.
AC/DC Australia’s Family Jewels is the first and only, fully endorsed exhibition on one of the world’s greatest bands. Visitors will be able to see a wide array of rare AC/DC memorabilia and videos, as well as to listen to over three hours of their favourite AC/DC music and interviews.
The national tour of AC/DC Australia’s Family Jewels has been made possible through the substantial support of Visions of Australia, an Australian Government program supporting touring exhibitions of cultural material across Australia. The Arts Centre, along with Western Australian Museum and our other exhibition partners are very grateful for this support.
After the showing of AC/DC Australia’s Family Jewels at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney the exhibition will travel on to the Museum and Gallery of the Northern Territory, Darwin and then to the Western Australian Museum, Perth.
