AC/DC Australia’s Family Jewels is an exhibition celebrating the music, history and power of one of the world’s greatest rock and roll bands.

For over 35 years, AC/DC have stuck to playing ‘good, hard rock and roll’ and working almost nonstop. They have now sold over 200 million copies of their 18 original albums, and completed 60 substantial tours. AC/DC have gone from playing small pubs and clubs in their home town of Sydney, to theatres, arenas and now stadia across the globe.

In the end, however, it is their music that people love. The down-to-earth rock ‘n’ roll power of AC/DC’s songs has captivated fans across generations and around the world. AC/DC have never pretended to be anything other than themselves: ‘what you see is what you get’. They have pursued a career-long devotion to providing what their audience – their fans – has wanted. It is an understanding that says, ‘don’t worry about anything else; we just want to have a GOOD time!’

AC/DC Australia’s Family Jewels takes the same attitude; it is one for the fans. In this spirit the Arts Centre and the Western Australian Museum offers this show to the public and thanks the members of AC/DC for entrusting us with its undertaking.
